Essay writing competition open to students

The independent publishing company W.W. Norton & Company Inc. is sponsoring a writing competition and they are calling for submissions. First prize is $1,500. Two runners-up will receive $1,000. The deadline to enter is June 15.

Each entry must be accompanied by a core letter from a nominating instructor on departmental stationary. Instructors may nominate only one student essay.

The Norton Writing Prize is awarded annually for an outstanding essay written by an undergraduate. The contest is open to anyone enrolled in an accredited two or four-year college or university during the 2018-2019 academic year.
